About the Casting Clinic

E.I. Fly™1X Class

E.I. Fly™1X:  Beginner Level (Basic Casting On-Land Only)

This beginner class is designed for those who have a general curiosity about fly-fishing and who say, “I would love to learn how to fly fish, but I don’t have the time or gear to learn."  To get you started, we review rod set-up/balance, casting theory-instruction, and casting drills & skills.

The E.I. Fly™1X class is easily accessible and can be taught in a variety of locations. For Example: work, home, and local park's.  Students are given the rare opportunity to cast the ECHO micro practice rod and fast and medium action fly rods. By offering this unique combination of casting instruction and use of top brand equipment, our students’ fly fishing skill and intelligence improves immediately. Note: instruction is on land and we are not actively trying to catch fish.

Equipment Needed: polarized sunglasses, hat, and camera. If you have your own fly rod and accessories, please feel free to bring them.

About the Presentation

Ever wonder what it's like to travel and fish Argentina/Patagonia?

The AMC Highland Center is pleased to have Mark Foley of First Cast Fly Fishing present a slide show about fly-fishing and traveling in Argentina.  At age 29, Mark spent one year hiking and fishing the Andes mountain range and he is a former Argentina Orvis endorsed fly-fishing lodge manager.  During his presentation, he will take us on a fly-fishing journey from Tierra del Fuego to the border of the Bolivian rainforest. We will see spectacular pictures of the Andes, wildlife such as the Andean Condor, and of course, lots of photos of wild trout and Golden Dorado.  Lastly, Mark will share a few secrets on how to travel on a dime, yet travel in comfort.

Hope to see you at the AMC,

Mark
